Kaleb's Haircut!
We decided it was time for Kaleb to have a haircut and he was so funny because he was so excited and he had no clue why! We started cutting his hair and kept asking us "where my hair go?" or saying "I'm a big boy now" or "I like Daddy"!! It was tooooo cute!! Well I thought I would post the pics and let you enjoy our newly buzzed older-lookin handsome little guy!!

homeschooling tips.....
I would love to hear of any homeschooling tips that you all just love!!! Things that have worked for you and curriculum you have found.......whatever you love about it I would love to hear about! Thanks <3
Casting Crowns!!!
WOW!! Thats almost all I can say about the Casting Crowns concert last night!! It was so amazing! James and I were so blessed by going to see them. They were funny, touching and you could feel the love for Jesus just by being near them :). Something else new happened last night we sponsored a little girl from Ethiopia. We were really feeling lead to sponsor a child for the rest of their lives and decided to sponsor a little girl. Her name is a little hard to pronounce so we call her Boo. We are so excited to write her and know she is being taught about Jesus with her own NEW bible !! We are so blessed to help our special little boo :) We have decided to cut our grocery bill by $5 a week and the girls are going to give up 2 snacks a week to help pay for Boo's sponsorship. I think it will be an awesome reminder atleast 2 days a week that their are starving, cold, sad innocent children that don't have the luxuries or blessing we have and take for granite. Anyways..... it was a good night, I had a great time with my man and we had awesome chats while driving and waiting for the concert :). I thank God for my hubby, he is the man I thought I would never have or deserve and yet he is mine!! :) Hope you all had a blessed weekend!

Pride
I read this and thought this was so true. Pride can damage our lives in so many ways.
My name is Pride.
I am a cheater.
I cheat you of your God-given destiny...because you demand your own way.
I cheat you of contentment...because you "deserve better than this."
I cheat you of knowledge...because you already know it all.
I cheat you of healing...because you're too full of me to forgive.
I cheat you of holiness...because you refuse to admit when you're wrong.
I cheat you of vision...because you'd rather look in the mirror than out a window.
I cheat you of genuine friendship...because nobody's going to know the real you.
I cheat you of love...because real romance demands sacrifice.
I cheat you of greatness in heaven...because you refuse to wash another's feet on earth.
I cheat you of God's glory...because I convince you to seek your own.
My name is Pride.
I am a cheater.
You like me because you think I'm always looking out for you.
Just thought I would share........

picture issues
I tried to load up some pics and its just not working for me. If you really want to see the creative writing sticks I can email pics to you :) Ta Ta
Creative Writing Sticks.....this one goes out to Marnie :)
Ok so I am going to explain the creative writing sticks it's simple, free and fun! All you need is a sharpie pen, popsicle sticks and somewhere to keep the popsicle sticks. Basically is the kids are stuck on what to write or want to arite a story it makes it fun to pick a stick that gives you the setting for your story. For instance a couple of things we have on our popsicle sticks are if I were a pirate, if I lived when Jesus walked the earth, if I were lost at sea, if I lived in a castle, if I could breath under water, or if I lived in another country. There are also some that have only one word on them for example dinosaurs, birthday, summer, vacation, knight and so on. This way they can write about anything that includes the one word. We have done this for 2 years and still they come up with awesome stories! We also use Prayer Sticks. We put family, friends, and random people on them. For example we have pray for homeless people, pray for someone that doesn't know jesus, pray for orphanage children, pray for people with addictions and so on. The of course we have some with all of our families and friends ( they each have their own stick) :) This not only reminds us to pray everyday but to pray for others, not only ourselves. We have found that sometimes we will pick the same sticks a couple times in a row ( the chances of that are slim there are atleast 75 sticks in the jar) and we will call them to see whats up and 9 times ou of 10 there is something going on specifically that they need prayer for. The girls get so excited because its God showing them who to pray for when they pick a stick (because they know he puts it in their hands :) anf then they get to see prayers answered. Prayer is a powerful thing and I am so glad my children enjoy praying for others!

Journal Entries.......
My kids write in their journals everyday. They can think of what they want to write about on their own or choose a stick from our creative writing cup, which have all kinds of ideas written on them. Faith and Aislyn chose to write on their own yesterday. Faith wrote about God's armor and how she likes to put it on everyday, how she feels safer and like a real warrior here on the earth to conquer satan and share Jesus with all :). I think she just wishes now I would let her talk to ALL strangers :). Then there is Aislyn. Aislyn wrote about Marco Polo, don't ask me why we arent even studying him yet we are still in Ancient Greece and Rome. So anyways Aislyn wrote about how he was a believer, and how he came to a new land and found nuts as big as his head and how he saw monkeys and thought they were little men with tails. She could hardly control her laughter while reading her entry to Faith and I. So as the tears were pouring down her cheeks and she is hysterical, she stops dead in her tracks....stops the laughter and the tears and says.......hey there is a game you play in the pool called Marco Polo.....I wonder why he never swam in his story, hey mom do all believers know how to swim and why isn't there a game called Christopher Colombus??? Or Florence Nightengale or William Bradford??? We all laughed so hard and then later on that afternoon I was thinking back on what she had said and, giggling, I thought how many 7 year olds even know who those people are?? Homeschooling just rocks....I admit I hate teaching math with a passion but I LOVE history and is shows because my kids devour anything historical and love it. I am so glad I get to cater to their loves..... <3
